We slept in to 7 AM (those with toddlers understand!) and headed up to Cabanas for breakfast. I had made a deal from when I was seriously dieting in January that I was not going to have a doughnut until I went on the cruise. That meant breakfast this morning had to include a doughnut. We had other food as well, and everything was good.
After breakfast, we headed out for a couple of morning activities. Erwin and Lily went to the Wake up with Disney Junior dance party. From the look of the video, it was a good time, with Lily really enjoying the Hokey Pokey. She was also a little starstruck when Goofy came in to do the Hot Dog dance. I went to the member gathering for DVC--mostly sales pitch/pep rally, but a chance for a free mimosa and good swag. In fact, the sheer volume of swag we have gotten on this trip is incredible. So far: a fish extender, various trinkets left in it, a backpack full of stuff, a leather portfolio, some shopping bags, hats, lanyards, and a swim backpack (the last of which I won for knowing that Aulani is in Oahu--go geeky me!). Erwin and Lily came in near the end, and we headed back to the room, with a brief stop to meet Minnie and get some pictures.
After some futzing in here, I stayed with Lily to watch Mouse and Erwin left to explore the ship. Lily didn't take a nap, so we headed up to Cabanas for lunch-- and she had an exhaustion-driven meltdown before either of us had lunch. Erwin took her back to the room, and I stayed up there for a protein-heavy lunch (jerk pork, stuffed chicken, really good beef stir fry, etc.). I came back down and stayed with the now-sleeping Lily while Erwin went and grabbed lunch. I ended up sleeping for a couple hours, and Lily slept for almost 3 hours. When she woke up, she was crying pretty bad whenever we suggested leaving the room, so we did a bit of 20 questions and bribery and figured out that her legs are hurting and that she wanted to be in the stroller. No problem...that was easily handled, so we went upstairs for the ice cream meet. Lily of course refused ice cream, but had fun when we gave her an empty cone, which she used to feed Minnie lots of pretend ice cream. As was the nature of the bribe, we returned to the room afterwards to watch Mouse. Near the end, we started to get into our formal wear for pictures and dinner.
We took several shots in the atrium, but as it was still to early to get seated for dinner, we hit the shops and bought a Captain Mickey plush--after all, if mom was on a fancy date with daddy, then Lily needed a date too! When we got to our table, eventually the new couple arrived (Eric and Christina) with their two kids, Moira (5) and Aaron (21 months). Because of her behavior, Lily found she had more in common with the five year old. Aaron succeeded in making an age-appropriate toddler mess of the table, including spilling a full cup of milk on his dad. (Overall, the three kids at the table were awesome, although I think sometimes they were too tired to really enjoy everything). Lily was an angel eating her pasta ( no sauce) and trying the mushroom soup. Tonight, we did a full four courses.
Lily did awesome at the meal until right at the end if entrees when she sobbingly apologized to her daddy about having a wet diaper that needed changing. After that, she really couldn't stay still much longer, so I walked around with her. Hey, I know grown ups who can't handle a two-hour meal!
We decided to push our luck and go to the stage show tonight, which was Aladdin. Because it was supposedly very similar to the show at Disney's California Adventure (which we both had seen), we figured we would go, sit near the back, and if we had to leave, no prob. Well, we didn't need to worry. A little popcorn and some toys kept her amused until the show started, at which point she was totally engrossed. She danced through the opening number (and where she learned to bellydance, I have no clue). Aside from getting a little sleepy during A Whole New World, she was awake and alert for the whole show.
Afterwards, we got into our room and put her to bed. It didn't take much before she (and then the rest of the room) were sound asleep.
